The past 4 mornings we have had 12 semis lined up on the county road when we got up. They started arriving the evening before and spent the night there. They hauled their load to Nebraska and Colorado and were back as soon as they could get back. Each day saw 750 yearling heifers loaded up and heading out. Breakfast was at 5:30 am. Kate had some people and I had some. We took turns cooking lunch. All went smoothly, they had them weighed by 7:30, and the trucks started pulling into the yard one by one. The yard holds 3 at a time....one loading, and 2 waiting.
All the horse trailers had to park down the other road and along the sides so the semi trucks could have room to turn around and back into the chute.
The weather was SO BEAUTIFUL!! It was nice to eat outside part of the days. Several days they had to water the corral so it wasn't dusty...mother nature helped out halfway through and watered us down one evening so that saved a lot of time and work.

What a convoy! Nice the weather cooperated. It has been gorgeous. The last couple of days I've lain out on the driveway for a few minutes, just to soak up some sun before winter. Are all your cattle gone now?
