Where are Grpa and Grma now?

We are at the Safari Club International Convention in Reno, NV today. This fellow is from Idaho and the 2 front pairs of chaps are made of elephant hide. You could buy an elephant hide flyswatter for a much lower price of $20! We didn't need one quite that bad. We were afraid to ask what the chaps cost.
These were made from highlander cowhide...that is a very hairy, shaggy type of cow.
Grandpa looks a little doubtfully at the zebra hide chaps!

There were beautiful mounts everywhere...and lots of people, of course.

These are African cats.

One thing that amazed me was the displays that were set up. Whole mini forests complete with lions and big cats, elephants, giraffes, and all sorts of elk and western type animals. We walked "gingerly" into the motel tonight. It rained and snowed today, and now it has frozen..quite a skating rink!

A visit from Alisa

Alisa brought 3 of her turtles with her. She is on the way back to college. Fischer and Hazen came down to see Alisa and "help" her do some baking....and cleaning the bowl out!

Fun times were had by all!

Oh my goodness!

One thermometer keeps going down... The other one gives up at 30 below!
Does OF.L mean awful in digital thermometer talk??

One day closer to summertime!!

Grandpa G, Rory, and Jace heading out to dig worms for fishing in late August..doesn't seem so long ago. Fast forward to 4 months later....same place, different season.
For some reason the cats do NOT have sense enough to get into the sheds, or under the deck they are sitting on where it is warm and not snowy...they sit on the deck right outside the window in case someone has any table scraps to share. They get to looking like snowballs after awhile.

More family time...

These bighorn sheep were in Sybille Canyon.
I wonder if they were licking salt off the highway? They were right on a curve, but everyone got stopped in time. I couldn't get them to pose for a picture and look straight at me.

Decorating sugar cookies was a fun thing to do together. Here is Allison. Larkin stuck quite a few decorations in her mouth as she stuck a few of them on the cookies!

Clayton doing a good job.

Reading the gingerbread man story.

Dad even got involved in the cookie process.
