April 30

Kim Sikes passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack this week. She and Randy worked and lived here on the ZN for some years. This was his Facebook post.

We got bred cows in at 4 am via semi truck this morning. Hazen and Dusty helped brand them.
Several calved before the trucks left the sale barn.
The boys putting the calf with its mother.
Elizabeth helping grandma make cookies for the after branding snack.
Oh yes, it's snowing again and interstate 80 was closed all night.

April 26

 Interstate 80 closed again.
We probably got 10-12" but the ground was warm and the bottom kept melting. So muddy underneath the snow!
The snow was really wet and heavy. It was hard to push off.
The snow was so heavy it popped Kalees wiper blade off.
Waving bye to daddy. Gloves and boots, but no coat.

3 years ago I put this on Facebook. Buddy is Georges constant companion.
We have to compete to sit by George in the Ranger!
Buddy rides in the excavator with George  and rests his head on his shoulder.  George likes it, that is not my style!😜
I guess whatever you enjoy!!

Mid April

Rory had a cello recital. Wish we lived closer!
Thursday April 14 it is warm and dry.  Friday it is all white and snow covered.

George is trying to get a lot of ditch work between snow storms, mud and flooding.
The sage chickens were really strutting tonight!  Best show we have seen for awhile!
The Florida tomatoes are doing well.
Picked a bowl full.

Can hardly see past the snow piled on the hood. The roads are deep in snow and mud. April 18
It's a beautiful April 21. The snow has melted and water is everywhere!
The creek is running high.
Lots of Sandhill cranes making nests and strolling around.
Hazen making cherry cheesecake for Sunday lunch.
Dusty went fishing with dad and grandpa.

April antics

Dusty's delayed birthday party til grandma and grandpa got home. It was bad hair day at school, so it was a little fluffed up!  There were birthday donuts with a #6 candle for treats.
Fun times.
Sunday morning. Fischer has strep, so he's not feeling the best. Makes me nostalgic for the days when my kids were this age!
The usual Sunday morning bread bake.
A picture from last August tuna fishing with Jerm and Dave and Dale Haukeli. Popped up on Facebook.

April 3

I was able to get my tomato plants in the car. The big ones are turning pink.
Elk loin shishkebobs with Georges fishing buddies at Kingsgate.

Fried ice cream at a Mexican restaurant with Shaws the last night.
Such beautiful trees and flowers in Georgia and Tenn.
The redbuds are blooming everywhere in Tenn thru Missouri. I never got out of the car to get a close up, but they are pretty.
We look forward to seeing the arch at St Louis. Only 14 hours away from home!
Sandhill cranes by the thousands near Grand Island. Photo taken 80 mph from the window on interstate 80!
The tomatoes starting to ripen. They made the trip OK!  Left FL at 6:30 am Sunday.   Home 6 pm Tuesday. Passed through Florida, Georgia, Tennesee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa , Nebraska, and finally home sweet home, Wyoming!!  2145 miles, three long days of driving, great weather and roads.
