What a wonderful day!

Deb and Neil, Tom, Duane and Carol...we had such a nice time visiting and hearing about Africa and India. Tim, Myrna, Jocelyn, and her girls spent the night here too, but I didn't get their picture. We used to be in mtg together in the "good old days". This is the kind of Sunday morning weather we were having. They came in four wheel drives on the back roads to avoid the slick highway with all the crazy drivers. 31 people were here for the morning and lunch.

Last minute visiting before pulling out.

Enjoying the sunshine and working at the same time!

I always like to take pictures of this scenic barn with the mtn in the background. Our cattle are in the pastures around this place. If this old sod roofed barn could talk, it could tell some stories!

Grpa G was checking on some things and invited me to go with him. I grabbed my camera, and off we went. The mountain looked so pretty behind these trees. I wish I could have groomed the trees a bit, but didn't have a ladder or a chainsaw with me!!

Grpa was checking traps waay up here on this rocky ridge. That is the truck below. He didn't say I couldn't make it to the top, just said..."you can come as far as you want to go."

This rocky ridge is beautiful. This is a VERY snaky area in the fall and summer, so was fun to see it from the top now.

I was wondering if I would ever see Grpa again, when I heard a noise and saw his head popping over the top of the hill. You might have to click once to see him.

The sun was shining on the lichen on the rocks. A picture can't capture the glowing colors.

I think this was my favorite rock. I sat and soaked up sun and took pictures and waited. Someone told me that the skin on the back of your hands is one of the places in your body that manufactures Vit D from the sun. I got a good dose yesterday!!

Scenes from our place

Chris has 10 cute cow dog puppies that we are watching while they are gone for a few days.
Hunting in the snow.

Fischer and Hazen were busy hunting the other day while they waited for Grpa to come home from feeding cows. Hazen likes to do whatever big brother does.

Our 10 granddogs.

They are Bootiful!!

Polly and Lacey made these from the tops of Lacey's old boots....well, not soooo old, but she couldn't find any cowboys or cowgirls that would part with the tops of their boots! They saw some on the internet that they liked and wanted to try and make some. The ones on the internet were quite pricey...you could buy yourself several pairs of new boots for the same price. It turned out to be quite a project, but turned out quite unique! If anyone out there has old boots to recycle, send them their way.

Catching up...

Fischer turned 3 yesterday.. The east side of the mountain was WINDY! The clouds were rolling off the top of the mountain. This was taken out of the fire hall where we were for a retirement lunch for one of the neighbors..

The kids enjoyed seeing the firemen's outfits

..and sitting in the fire truck.

Last week we made a trip 12 hours east and saw more of our family. This is Rory.

Grpa G and Rory unpackaging a garbage truck.

Jace and Jerm doing the same. Several parents of "town kids" say their kids have a fascination with the garbage truck. They like to act out what they see. Country kids act out farming and horse riding because that is what they see that seems exciting. The ranch accountant said his two boys wanted to be garbage men when they grew up. They have since changed their minds and have graduated from college!
