Oh, a hunting we will go!
Hazen and Fischer were surprised to see this rug on the floor when they came into grandma's house. They immediately got their guns and began shooting!

Good days...
Do you know what this is? Besides bumpy snow?? My tulips are under the bumps. We had 4" Sunday morning. By afternoon, it had melted off. Last night we got another 6-8". If/when summer comes, we should have lush green grass!

Good fences
Spring is in the air?....
Several weeks ago, I planted seeds in little peat pellets....then in the cups a week or so later.
I found this Upside Down Patio Garden planter at Sam's Club. I wouldn't dare put it outside even in the summer as the wind in this area would tip it over and break the plants off. So these plants will thrive (I hope) in my sunny south window.

Snowy day..
Last week I put some pictures of the sage chickens strutting on the blog. Dorlene has a really good closeup video on her blog. Last night we went out to try and get some pictures in the snow. The chickens weren't there, but their tracks were. They had been out Sunday morning after the snow storm. The sage chickens have used this area for their spring strutting grounds forever....100's of years probably. They are right on the county road, and they stay out all night until about 8 am.
Grandpa G has to dig through the snow drifts to get wood for the woodstove.I
I am a little hard up for pictures that aren't snow related :(

Signs of Spring....
Since my last post, We have had a blizzard about every 2 days. I am a little tired of snow pictures, but here are some of my tulips on the south side of the house. They only have about 6" Of snow covering them. On the north side, there is at least a foot or more of snow on top. Some are not pointed on top anymore, so either a hungry cow, or rabbit has helped themself to some "tulip greens". Little signs like this keep us remembering other long winters that eventually turned into spring.
