Setting up my sister's quilt shop....

Here are a couple of BEFORE pictures of the quilt shop....note the ceiling for one thing....and the lights. This is from the front of the store looking back...
Now the AFTER pictures....

This picture might explain the kind of "spring" days we are having here in Wyoming. Cousin Kathy and I left after lunch Sunday to head to the town where my sister is setting up a quilt shop. One of the roads we drove on for 50 miles was listed as "no unnecessary travel" when we got to Karen's house, we could hardly turn the wheels because of the ice buildup. The temp hovered around -11 degrees to 0 degrees. The men loaded up two enclosed trailers full of fabric, shelves, and etc.

First off, Kathy vacuuming the new rug. Don't you love the color of the walls?

View from the front to the back of the store. The lighting is great for looking at fabric and colors.

The store used to be a cafe...so is totally redone. One neat thing is the "retro" shaped window in the front. Lots of townsfolk were walking by and peeking inside! Amy cleaned and shined the window so it is clear now.

Chantry and Bruce setting up the counters.

Karen washing and dusting cabinets.

Chantry finishing the floor outlets.

All the fabric had to be carried in, inventoried, then sorted as to color and groups that went together, and put on shelves. ... Oh yes, the shelves had to be carried in and set up first.

Several hours later looking from front to back.

Kathy trying out the cutting counter.

Things are looking more organised.

I should have gotten a picture of the room with everything sorted and organised...maybe Karen will take one later.

Down by the border...

In the subdivision where we went to g meeting in Camp Verde, AZ ....every house had an airplane garage next to their car garage. The streets in the subdivision had signs that said "Airplanes have the right of way" It was raining hard there. 30 miles north we came through a blizzard on the way to mtg. We enjoyed shopping in Mexico...it was raining there too! The desert will be beautiful with flowers this spring. One of the things we heard a lot here was..."lady, buy it here....cheeeep! Almost free!!"

The lettuce fields were such a nice "spring green" color, I had to take a picture as we were driving by!

There was quite a soldier presence checking the cars on the way out of Mexico. We had to wait about 45 minutes in the customs line. We just walked in...didn't drive in.

On the sunny side....

We were in deep snow yesterday and were glad to start seeing these cacti before lunch today. We are in Arizona now. Heading to gospel meeting. After we went over the Mogollon Rim we got out of the snow, but it was a blizzard for awhile.
Leaving Brad and Virginia's house. Flagstaff, AZ.

On the way to warmer weather....

The campground at Grand Canyon.
We saw this sign Friday...they had shoveled snow away from it.The pullouts were very snowed up, glad Grpa G has experience pulling a 5th wheel. One lady that used to go to our meeting when I was a kid always said..."I was just worried to pieces!" I was using her expression quite a bit!!

We have Jazz with us...an experience!

It really is Grand!

One man has already fallen over the edge this year...he slipped on the snow and ice.

We parked the camper in a campground and rode the "Blue Bus" around..

They only had plowed select camping spots out...there was way too much snow to do them all. They don't have that many campers this time of year.

Virginia took supper to the airport, Brad was working last night. It was fun to see where he works. It was snowing like mad. But....they are only 10 miles from a ski area. They got the second largest storm in Flagstaff history 2 weeks ago...3-4 feet of snow. Most yards only have the minimun driveway shoveled, and a path to their front door. The yards are fence deep in snow, and many cars are buried, only the antenna sticking out.

Weston posing with dad's work vehicle! He had to rescue a skier yesterday that had broken a leg in back country.

Fun visitors

Chaisley (3 mo) and Chase (4 mo) Sunday afternoon.
The boys had a lot of "aching feet" and had to try out Grandma's new foot massager. Everyone was enjoying story time...all 5 of us!
