Frosty sunbeams!

We woke to a beautiful, frosty morning here. The temperature was -5 degrees and all the people, animals, tractors, and chimneys were putting out white puffs of steam. The trees, fences, and grasses were coated with winter sparkles. I tried to capture a frozen rainbow against the fog, but it just looked like another bright spot in the day! It is wonderful if you can stay inside by the fire. Chris is digging out haystacks and cattle guards for GrpaG with the backhoe. They will spend extra time today so they can get done before 10 am on Sunday.
The date on the pictures is wrong. The batteries fell out of my camera the other day, and I didn't think to reset the date.

How time does fly!!

This is what the Williams family was doing 5 years ago today. We all looked MUCH younger then! Amy was getting to know our family, and Jeremy had just graduated from college and was about to move to Nevada. (If you click on the pictures, it enlarges them.)
Clayton was sure a jolly little fellow...I guess we all were happy that day!

Now that we have 2 feet of snow on the level....and more in the road ;), GrpaG has to take the snowblower and clean the road everytime we get word of company coming. The weather man says another storm somewhat like the last one is on its way starting tonight. It will go from Colorado to Rapid City, SD. Tom H is supposed to be here for supper, so we want to make sure he can get here! Maybe he will get snowed in. I suppose those planning spec mtgs in Oregon wouldn't be too happy about that!

Chris are Kate are coming home this week, and their drive blows shut every day, so GrpaG plans to plow some tall ridges of snow to catch the blowing snow before it gets to the driveway.

On the way to feed cows, grpaG had to pull the schoolbus out of the ditch. The road, the ditch, the sagebrush, all blended together in a rolling sea of white sparkles. He thought there was at least 14" of snow in the road, on the deck, and piled on the vehicles. It is nice to be able to stay home and enjoy the beauty of it.

Someone old and something new

I thought I ought to get into the blogging business, so here goes. I have NO cute babies at home to show pictures of, so mine will have to be scenes of daily life. When I have occasional visitors they will show up here too.
