C and K come to visit Florida February 7-14

You know it is going to be a good winter day when you wake up with palm trees outside your motel window!!

So fun to get together with another family of grandkids!

Seaworld sea lion Pirate show.

Going to the beach.  This was voted the most fun thing on the trip!

Everyone tries to get a picture of the "green flash" when the sun goes out of sight on the ocean.  I have not seen it yet.

A real live Beach Babe!!

Riding the water taxi over Lemon Bay to the Rum Bay restaurant.  We saw dolphins jumping in the boat wake.

Legoland Florida a fun place for little boys.

A not too scarey roller coaster.  The ride was just long enought to be exciting, but short enough to not be wishing you were getting off!
Fischer was nervous when the boy behind hit his car.  They had just said no running into people or you will get kicked out.  The little Lego cars were just the right size for the kids.  It might have been fun to do that twice.

Dusty checking out the dinosaur made out of many Legos  He was too short for the ride the boys were on.

Posing with the Lego man.

Wish you were here!
Dusty got to be an expert at popping heads off the shrimp before they went on the skewers for the grill.

Helping Grandpa G clean shrimp.  Spanish mackeral from the fishing trip were on the menu also.
Morning grandpa time.

Same beach, same game, different week, different players.

Empty flip flops.  All good things must end when real life begins again.  Sure was fun while it lasted.  Sure is quiet and lonely when it is over!!
They caught supper.

Hazen holds tight to a Spanish mackeral.
Fishing in Richard's bass ponds was very good!

Another view of the fishing trip results.

Nebraska and Wyoming meet the alligators.

Early February

We crossed this bridge going to special meeting in St Petersburg.  Some of our Nebraska friends met us there and came on home with us.
We arranged a sightseeing trip up the Peace river.  Here at Langley marina, there is a man who sells eating shrimp and bait shrimp 2 days per week, til he sells out.  He was all sold out when we got there, and we were early.

We did see dolphins playing in the wake of the boat at one point.

We saw quite a few alligators.  They would slip silently into the water when we pulled up in the boat.
What big teeth you have Mr alligator!!
This picnic table was at the Nav-i-Gator restaurant on the Peace River.  It was kind of a dive, but had good seafood!

No room for more pelicans!  They are watching for fish.

We passed a rookery of these Wood Storks.

Blue crabs on the dock.
Headed back to the marina.
So interesting to see the semi loads of oranges being unloaded at a juice concentrating facility.
More orange unloading.

Thanks for coming!

Grandkids coming....Yeah!!

J and A's friends from up north are down south!  We met up on Venice Beach.

Playing in the sand and water...never gets old!

Looking for fossilized shark teeth.

All the shark teeth.  The black skinny strips are fossilized sting ray parts.

Another beautiful evening.

Dining room table is good for eating seafood cooked on the grill....

and keeping current on homework.  This was fun for Grandpa and Grandma too.
Little boys wake up early on vacation.  They would listen for any water running, or flushing, then would run out and join Grandpa G on the couch to visit about yesterday and plan today!  They stayed quiet in their room til they heard the signal!

Playing football with dad and grandpa was so much fun!!

Eating at Fisheries and watching the boats.
Gaylord Palms Motel in Orlando we bid on Priceline.  Wish we would have had more time to explore.

There were alligators in a display in the lobby.

The lobby, you could walk and walk.

Disneyworld was cool and a bit wet, but the crowds were down.

We had our rainjackets and were comfortable.
Lots of fish.

Goodbye til next time!!
