April

Scott was having a ranch closing, so I went to stay with the boys.  George was working like crazy at the ranch with calving.
Fun playing games Saturday night.

Rowdy wondered why I got to come inside and he didn't?
We put a bunch of puzzles together.

We delivered mom's camper van to Jackson.  This was a cool clock in the house we stayed at.
The Tetons out the living room window.

Interstate 80 was closed 3 days one week and 2-3 days the next week for 54-64 vehicle pileups with slick roads and limited visibility the cause.  The last wreck burned for a day or more and 2 were killed.  April 16 and again Apr 20.

George moving the uncalved cows to the Crested Wheat pasture April 22.

last half of March

Remember that attempted burn last fall by the Game and fish and a professional fire crew, that didn't burn anything?  George and Chris decided the conditions were right, a little wind, lots of dry grass, and snow to stop the fire.  So they burned for 3 days or so, they got a lot burned.
The professionals wanted to get in on it for one day.  2 men came from Firetrax, helped some, and sent a bill for $6000.  That is the way these government grants work, I guess.  Chris and George worked for free, donated some diesel and hours.  A lot of grass and renewed sage should result.  We got nice snow on top of it.

March 2015

Jeremy got tied up with his job and couldn't come for the whole time, Amy and the boys flew into Orlando at 11:30 pm March 3.  We got a motel, then rode the shuttle over to meet the plane and ride back with them.
The neighborhood is very bike friendly, and Buddy loved to go running alongside them.
                                                             Relaxing with Grandpa G
One of the things we enjoyed was getting the newspaper delivered each morning.  Jace did word search and even tried Sodoku!

Getting a little Vitamin Sea and D.
                                                                  More kayaking.
Jerm got to enjoy 3 days with us.  He flew to Ft Myers Friday.

Old Maid was a fun game.  It was pretty hard to keep a straight face when getting the old maid.
                                                           Wildlife in the back yard.
Harry Potter at Universal studios.
Butter beer was a butterscotch flavored root beer smoothie.  Just right on a hot day.
Sunday morning in front of the house.  What a beautiful day!

More February 2015

Plant City strawberries were in season, so we really enjoyed them.
Some friends came over for elk steak one night and Helen brought this beautiful salad.
We went to the Amish at Sarasota for lunch and shopped at the vegetable market.
Everything was lined up so pretty, it looked like a painting.
Helen and Richard taking a spin in the convertible.
Richard thought George should try to hit a golf ball while he was here, so they did.
Back to that restaurant on the Peace  river overlooking the marina.  It was warm today. No heaters.
                                                       Our friends from New York.

Company coming!

Chris and Kate flew to Ft Myers.  $125 round trip tickets on Frontier were half what they paid last year!  They got in at 5:00 am after flying 3 1/2 hours from Denver.  Plane was scheduled at 5:30 so glad we were early.  We watched the plane on flightaware.com, so knew when they made it.  Everyone was pretty tired and needed a nap for awhile that morning.

Ready for company.

Resting up after flying all night.
Getting belted in for a ride.
                                                                Englewood beach.
It felt cool to us, but the kids were loving the water and the beach.
Left early in the morning for Magic Kingdom in Orlando.

Riding the tram with the family.

                                                               the Jungle Cruise.
Elizabeth enjoyed the smoothie best of all.  It was warm today, I don't know how warm.
                                                             My steps for the day.
Going with Grandpa and dad to kayak and fish.
The boys got to learn to paddle.

Learning from Dad.

                                                                     Boca Grande.
Old lighthouse at Boca Grande.  There is a museum.

The bottom sign says Saratoga, WY 2123 miles.
The man parking us at South Beach said "The birds are back, so we will feed 350 today"  It took me awhile to realize he meant snowbirds.

Grouper sandwich.
Renting  a 3 seat golf cart to see the island.
The cool banyan trees on this street. The branches make new trunks.  Named Banyan Street, of course!
Nice big back yard to play ball in.
