This was the scene going to Grandma's house the other day. If you click on the picture, the sign says Blowing Snow.

Then when the sun starts shining, the roads gets slick in addition to being terribly windy. Several semi trucks were on their sides. There were lots of emergency vehicles enroute to them.

Snowy Sunday morning

This is the usual routine on Sunday morning so people can get into our driveway. I looked back at Dec 2007 on the blog, and it was much worse! Some had to turn back this morning because of wrecks and slick roads and wind.

Looking back...

Here we all were 7 years ago today.... Scott and Renee.

36 years ago today...

Winter's designs

The snow is falling straight down this morning...not blowing off the deck, so this is the pattern that is left. It is all very pretty and sparkly. I have been hard up for something to post, and hate to disappoint all the folks checking the blog!

Special days

Vernon and Chris moved the bulls home to be worked, then moved them back to their pasture.

Thanksgiving visit

Grandpa enjoyed the stories as much as the boys did.
Jace fell asleep waiting for everyone to get ready.
Amy made the deelicious pie for Thanksgiving dinner!

Jace helping move cattle....Rory fell sound asleep, so he missed out.

Fresh snow on the mountain

Yesterday morning looked like this. Clouds sure make pretty sunrises and sunsets!
When the clouds lifted, there was fresh snow this morning.

Helping Grandma bake....

I had 2 helpers this morning. Part of the fun was walking from chair to chair. they had to pose a little licking the spoons. Fischer was putting on his "camera smile" in the first picture.

Some baking ideas..

If you scroll down to the bottom of the following page, there are some good ideas for baking cookies, meal ideas, etc at holiday time. http://www.flylady.net/pages/holidaycruising1.asp
In our area, Thanksgiving and special mtgs come around the same time, so I am always looking for ideas for both.

Monday at home

Last night we got out the train from 30 years ago and it still is as much fun as it was then!
We drove up to the mountain and checked on the elk....to see if there were any. It seemed like a nice sunny day to take pictures. We kept giving F advice on how to smile, etc....so he started giving us a few pointers about pictures!
F. and Grpa G had a nice conversation on their walk around the lake.

The weeds got tall, and the walk got long, so F. hitched a ride. When Gpra stumbled, F. said, " Are your glasses dirty?" He was trying to help Grpa solve his problem!

On the train....

The afternoon was quite interesting with 6 little boys under the age of 4...3 of them were 2 years old! They were going somewhere on the train with all the appropriate noise! Grpa Pres in the background had to take out his hearing aid to keep from losing what hearing he had left! Baby Corbin watched from the side lines. It won't be long until he gets into the group!

No one stayed in one place for long. This was the longest video I took!

Foggy fall day....

The fog came rolling in and covered the mountains up. When it lifted, the top of one of the mountains was all white with snow.
