This morning, George and Chris were talking on different phones, and Fischer was talking to his imaginary friend, Mick Mctuse. I think he was ordering salt or mineral or something. The men have been busy with fencing new pastures, getting cattle in, sending cattle out. Sorting out what mineral goes here and who wants salt there....of course, little boys have to do what the big boys are doing!

We went looking for shed elk horns yesterday afternoon. The mountain is really steep, but the views were worth it. We found a few horns, too.

The aspen groves are all brown yet, but in a few weeks they will be green.

Kate had the privilege (?) of coming upon the first rattlesnake of the season! She had the dogs with her, it was bright green, didn't rattle at first and was all coiled up looking at her, when she saw it. It was high altitude and has been cold at nights, so we weren't expecting to see rattlesnakes yet.

This little mountain drops off the backside with sheer cliffs. We could see tracks where the elk had walked out on some of the snow drifts.

Oh man. That piture of George and Chris and Fish reminds me of breakfasts before haying... George focused on his bible and the day, Gary intently drinking his coffee, toasted bagels and cream cheese packets. Man I miss those mornings.
