September Surprise

3:30 am we were awakened by the cracking and rustling of tree branches breaking and falling on the lawn outside our bedroom window. We turned on the outside light and it was snowing very hard....6" of wet snow was falling and sticking on the trees. Ed and Brenda woke to thumping and shaking on their roof...there are larger, older trees over there. 4 am George went over and brought Ed and Brenda to our house in case the trees fell on the guest house and went through the roof. The men's caps kept the snow off their glasses, but Brenda wasn't that lucky!

This was Sunday morning..

After driving around this afternoon, we found that we were in the center of about a 10 mile circle that got snow. Owen came over this morning and only got 1" there. Our little town 17 miles away, got NO snow! We have had bright blue skies all day since the snow stopped.

Amazing all the damage 6 inches of snow did to your trees - I'm sorry. You will have a mess of branches to clean up now. Karen F.

Your ranch must be the center of the Bermuda Triangle of strange weather events of the west. I hope your trees are going to bounce back.
