Yellowstone Park is on the way home.....

We left Cody around 7:30 am Monday morning, headed west into Yellowstone Park.
We stopped to see the bubbling mudpots.

You have to have a picture at Yellowstone Falls.

We drove to a different viewing point.
Waiting for Old Faithful to go off, eating ice cream.

Always special to see Old Faithful go off.  It was worth the wait.
Looking off the deck of Old Faithful Inn.

We drove past the Tetons on the way home.

Late June

The whole family was at Cody convention so we took the oportunity to get a family picture..Thanks Kate!!

These men have been friends for years.  I have a picture just like this from 20 years ago, or so.
My boys catching up on some visiting between meetings.

11 grandkids all together!
Fun cousin times!

A few silly moments.

Helping Grandpa G crack eggs...lots of them!

Royce's arm here retreiving bowls of cracked eggs.  Dusty looks like he is going to eat an egg shell, but wasn't.

Lots of biscuits too....

Grandma Sundin made George an Angry Birds blanket for his naps in his recliner.

Grandma Sundin watching George open his present.

My nephews, Ty and Martin and their wives.

June 2014

George had to put in a new septic tank by the guest house.  He had to chain the trackhoe to the truck that was setting the tank so it would not tip over as they reached out to set the tank in the hole.

We had a nice supper with George's folks and Duane on the way to the airport.  Duane brought the gospel to Pres and Nelda 52 years ago.  Duane is about 87 yrs old.  Pres is almost 85.  Duane has been in South America for 30 years.
Mount Hood from the airplane.
Cell phones are pretty handy.  Here George is doing business from the beach at Ocean Park, WA.

Check out First Mates Cottage, a great vacation house to rent.

Front steps at the First Mate's Cottage.  The flowers are beautiful.

Rhododenderons along the drive coming in to the house.

Front door flowers.

We stayed at Dianes Beach House as The First Mates Cottage was booked.  They are both lovely vacation homes.

In the greenhouse May, early June

Last year I was plagued with aphids.  I got 4500 ladybugs. we got them a bit late, we were gone with my dad's funeral and trips there, so I wasn't happy with the results.  This year, I ordered 9000 ladybugs early.  They stay dormant in the refrigerator.  You shake out a couple hundred at a time.
I have lots of good help in the greenhouse.  Here is early May, just getting started.
Some of the 9000 lady bugs in their bag.

We tried to spread them out, put them out in the cool of the evening, after we watered things.

The strawberry patch is a favorite place.

Pretty soon, Elizabeth started picking them herself, she didn't care if they had leaves or not, fresh squeezed strawberry juice was all around!

Gardening gloves are a must!

George put automatic watering on most of the plants, but a few needed hand watering.
                                                                    EARLY JUNE

Cattle comin' late May

The trucks turn down the road to the left, stop,  and then back up to the chute. The other trucks stay on the incoming road until it is their turn.   The cattle run down the stock drive lane and are turned in at the pasture gate.
I count the cattle off the trucks as we get paid for pasturing each animal.  The big boys are in school, so Dusty and Elizabeth get to join in.  The men chain the cattle chute to the cattle guard to hold it steady, then the cattle run down the lane to their summer pasture.

It is pretty exciting to watch all the semi trucks pull up, then back around to park precisely at the chute opening.

It is fun to have little people along.  They add excitement to a possibly boring time!

Mothers Day May 11

Elizabeth having tea with Grandma.

Drilling holes in the bottom of a pot for mom's mothers day plant.

Strawberries are coming on in the greenhouse.

The windows are so caked with snow this Sunday that we can't see out any direction.  All the roads from Utah to Cheyenne are closed.  Chris had company, so we had a nice mtg this morning.  No one from away from here could come.

To Chris and Kate's for lunch.  Drifts are above my boot tops.  :(

George still in his Sunday clothes shutting off ditches.  Lots of water in this snow, things freeze shut and flood, so this is and ounce of prevention.

My tulips....the second time they've been snowed on in the past 2 weeks.

Chris cooked prime rib for Mother's Day lunch.  DEEE--licious!!

The snow is drifting along the irrigation ditches as we go to turn them off.  Pretty soon it will start caving off.  George had to mention that we don't have cell service right here, and if we slid off into the water we would probably drown or get hypothermia.  I had already thought of that and tried NOT to think about it if I could help it!!
The next 2 pictures are 2 weeks later...May 25.  Wyoming people and plants have to be very hardy!  Same place, different day!
