Roatan, Honduras

Roatan is a beautiful tropical island. The cruise boats have brought much needed income. The guide told us when the cruises started coming, the people got rid of the drug traders as they knew cruises would not come if it was not safe. We hired our own private car to take us around and show us the sights of the island.
The iguanas.

Honduran money.

The iguana refuge. They all came running up to be fed leaves. When the man brought out bananas....they went bananas and went running everywhere... kind of freaked me out!

Progresso, Yucatan Mexico

This was one of the ruins at the Mayan Ruins we visited at Dzibilchaltunn in the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico.

This next shot is the ball hoop for the game where they bumped the rubber ball through the hoop with their hips or elbows. The captain of the winning team was beheaded... according to the guide, he thought that was a great honor, because he went straight to heaven!! It was "almost" too hot for us northerners!

Some Pictures from the last two days...

These are beautiful fruit arrangements. I can't get any more pictures to load tonight. The flowers and fish were all made out of melons, lemons, onions, etc.

Some scenes from Saturday...

The mountain as we were leaving Friday...that is wind making the clouds on top.
The tires on these trailers are taller than our heads. These huge tubes propelled the rockets into space.

Grpa G and friends!

Sunny Thursday...

I got stuck in the deep snow trying to back out of Kate's driveway today, so used the time waiting for Grpa to come pull me out, to take a pretty picture of the mountain. (Fischer likes to play with his trucks and tractors and every time he does, he says "I got stuck in the snow again!!" I wonder where he got that???)

Grpa G is bringing the suitcases to the house. He had to wade through a lot of snow.

It's cold out there!!

This is what the thermometer says when it is just toooo cold. I say it is thermometer talk for awful!! Gary said his thermometer says -25. After -21.9, ours just gives up! I need to get one of the thermometers with a spring and a hand that goes around. Sounds like it is much colder at Lisa's house -35 degrees or there abouts.

Saturday...

The snowplows have to plow our county roads a couple of times per week to keep us from being completely isolated. Luckily for us, the schoolbus takes this route and keeps this road a priority.
