I can see my sidewalk!

I can finally see my sidewalk in front of my house (north side) for the first time in months. It has been snow covered since I don't know when. Please don't imagine that we have had NO shoveled doorway to enter, but our extra front door has been snow blocked. We have had strong winds and 45 degree temps for the past several days, thus melting the snow drifts.
George is out "assisting" a heifer to give birth. We have about 90 calves so far.

Springtime out my back door....

It is snowing again this morning. I have lots of black babies to watch out back. A week ago, we were walking around without coats...a little bit hot, feeling the sun on our skin. Today, everyone is bundled up with winter coats and hats.

Warm sand, sunny days...

The sand helped them warm up and dry off.

This is the back patio at the house we stayed at. Being from cold country as we are, it seemed really convenient. To all you warm weather people, it is nothing special. The blue blanket held the heat in when the kids weren't swimming.

Cowboy beach outfit!!

A rancher from Mullen, Nebr came up and asked if Jeff was from midwest ranch country ...Lisa talked to him, I don't know the exact phrase. He said to Jeff later, "you can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy!"

I have been using this picture for the wallpaper on my computer desktop. It kind of tells the story without words....makes you feel like.....well, a kid again!! You don't worry about how you look, what others will think, but just enjoy the moment!

Scrapbooking expo in Orlando

JD and family spent one day with L's oldest sister and family who were also in Orlando at the same time. Grpa G and I went to the Convention Center (with the help of TomTom, our GPS) where there were several different exhibitions to go to. There was a helicopter show, a boat show, a log home show, and a scrapbook expo. I wished all of you cardmaking, scrapbook making friends could have been there. There were 60 booths, all selling EVERYTHING at "reduced show prices". Women were leaving the hall with huge bags of materials and BIG smiles on their faces. There were hands on classes at about every booth. I was like a non swimmer at a swimming party, so really couldn't enter in to the general excitement, but it was hard not to get caught up in buying something.....anything, as everyone seemed to think the deals were so wonderful!
George enjoyed seeing all the log home kits and ideas, furnishings, lighting, etc. This was the 4th day of mega walking, so the bottoms of our feet were complaining a little.

Notice the tree shaped like Mickey Mouse.
Cinderella's castle.

Finally, NOT a snow picture!

I have been wanting to blog a picture of something green for a change. Last week we took a trip to Florida with JD and family. Here they are looking over the lake at Epcot. We just enjoyed the feeling of soaking up sunshine, and feeling a bit too HOT !
The girls took a break in the double stroller while the others went on a wild Space Mountain ride.
We rented a 3 bedroom house with a private pool. It was cheaper than 2 motel rooms and much roomier! The kids loved it. They were happy to come home in the evenings and swim a little. We lucked out and the temps were in the low 80's during the day and the water was warm.
We can now add our praise of the GPS car systems. We did not have a map, just typed in the addresses of where we wanted to go, clicked on "fastest way" and away we went.
I think the nicest part of going away is the good feeling of being "home again!"
