Dec 23

Clayton got his bull elk.  Tom and Grandpa George were with him.
                                                         Hunting was good that day.
Scott and Renee and boys visited Jeremy and Amy.  This is atop a hill across the street from                                                               their house where the boys were sledding.
                                                     Some beautiful sunsets this week.
                                                    45th anniversary flowers from George.
8 grandkids having a sleepover at Chris's house.  Creating memories!
Ice fishing on the "grandkids" pond.  60 fish were caught.

View from Chris's house.

Jeff and Lisa delivered horses to California.  Allison visited friends in SLC, Clayton went elk hunting.  Larkin stayed with Grandma and Grandpa and visited cousins, went to their school party.
The roads seemed to be closed every night with blizzard conditions.  Typical for this time of year.

Dec 19

Cheyenne special mtg.  Tom H visiting with Pres.  Kathy to the left.  George and Sue to the right.
                                                      Fischer and Dusty eating lunch.
Starting out the day early.  Moving cows to another pasture/feeding ground.
Chris giving instructions to the cowboys.
George and I dropped the men and horses off at Ft Steele, then brought the horse trailers to the                              Savage where they were moving the cows.  It was a 10 mile or more trail.
We made a couple trips to get the vehicles where they were needed.
The day was cold, but beautiful!
Those lenticular clouds form over the mountains because of wind.
The cows wading into the Platter River to get a drink.  Beautiful river.
Started a fire in the woodstove as it is going down to zero degrees.  Smoky.  Climbed onto the roof to check it out.  Found a bird nest.  Pulled most of it out.  Will have to wait until the stove cools before finishing the job.

Early December

So fun to find fresh eggs.  The chickens have started laying.
There is a chicken hiding in a nest.

A big deer going over the hill

Kate and Chris's house!  So pretty in the snow.  We always have storms at Special meeting time.
The highways were all closed for a day.  They were able to come after lunch.

Special company.

Hunters here from Alaska today also.  Everything is happening at once!
Funny overhead message, but a serious one.  Truck drivers don't take the warnings seriously and they blow over.  Then the roads are closed, people get hurt, lots of dollars lost in trucks and their loads. The wind gust speeds are 65 mph and higher.

Nov 17

Liz learning to write her name.

Tea party with Grandma.

Looks like a snow globe today.  Nov 17

Another good bull elk.  It walked right in front of Chris off Rattlesnake Road.

We are having beautiful sunrises.

This from Scott.  The mountain lion left tracks in the snow on the side of the road.
When he crossed, it packed the snow down, then the snow blew away, except for the packed snow.

Nov 8-13

Nov 6 snow.  Closed some roads.

Scott and Renee were going to Amarillo to watch Jeff's guys in the national finals WRCA rodeo.
The roads were slushy and this cool pattern developed on the rear wheels.

It was hard to get the doors open from all the ice.
The steps were really slick.

View out Scotts back window.

Chase making a card for mom and dad.

Looks like they were having a nice time.

We had a fun time with the boys.  Even had worker company!

End of October

Jeff's family visited Grandpa Pres.  he said he didn't know who they were, but started asking about the 43 ranch.

We tried to visit Pres Halloween night.  he was busy handing out candy.
there must have been several hundred kids there.

If George stood right in front of him, he would talk a minute.

We headed on to Omaha to deliver the elk meat .  We went to Nebraska furniture warehouse and bought some living room furniture.

sept 26

Ever wonder why it is so hard to sneak up on an antelope?  Their eyes seem to
stick out of the side of their head and they can see behind them.

The cabin at East Fork.  George and I decided to cook a hamburger to celebrate fall.
