Before the storm...

Remember that joyous feeling of jumping in the crunchy fall leaves??
The grandsons were enjoying it to the full today.  It was a balmy 65 degrees, a storm forcast tomorrow.

George was repairing a dike and headgate on a lake and these creatures were all over the place.

                                                              More leaf jumping.
I don't have to rake leaves, the wind piles them behind the next house!

Scenes from this week.

The wind makes really pretty cloud formations.

On the wild side....

We saw this "herd" of small coons running down our road toward us this afternoon.  When they saw us, they turned tail and ran the other way!  Click twice.
They really kicked up their heels and ran...fast!
I got close enough to 2 of them to get a picture.

A snowy Saturday...

Saturday was one of those days when you just want to stay inside by the fire.

It was a good day to NOT be a horse...
 or an old bull skull....
 or a purple viola!

One fine fall day...

The fall colors are so beautiful right now.  The days have been warm in the 80's, and the
 nights cool...30   degrees last night.
If we get a wind, the ground will be gold with leaves.

A change of scene....

We steamed these clams...waited for them to pop open, dipped them in butter.  Yum.
