We had to leave 2 days late because of a blizzard that came through and closed roads from Rock Springs to Lincoln, NE. We got 3", Cheyenne 12", Kearney, NE 24". I-80 was still closed in NE when we left home. High winds and blizzard warnings were coming Wednesday afternoon in our area which closed roads, so we had to get out or get snowed in again. We got as far as Sidney on snow packed slick highways, then it was closed for 2 hours. Past Sidney, it was dry. Stopped at York, NE Wed night. Then Cadiz, KY the second night.

A picture from Kearney, NE. Lots of drifting!

Lots of snow drifts at home. Buddy is ready to go to Florida!

I-80 was slick with limited visibility.

Sidney parking lots were packed with snow and semis. Police were out directing semi parking. They were all along the sides of the streets. Walmart parking was full of trucks. Someone was directing parking, then turning them away. We watched the road. The minute we saw traffic start moving, we got going. We were at the head of the line so were ahead of the craziness of hundreds of semis speeding. The roads were dry.

Nebraska sunrise out of York.

St Louis arch. 780 miles 2nd day.
