Late September, early october picnics

The view of Elk Mtn and the Double Eight Ranch was great.
The evening was so beautiful.  The setting sun highlighting the trees.
George and I slipped over to Elk Mtn in the evening to cook a steak and listen to the elk bugle.
On the way over we saw a bunch of elk off Rattlesnake road.
Can you see the elk coming out on the meadow?

George was trying to hold the camera in front of the spotting scope to get a good picture, but it didn't work like we wanted it to.
This moose was one of several along the side of the road, checking us out.
We bugled to this elk he threw his head up and watched us.
We took hunters a week later, saw an elk, heard some bugling.  The leaves are falling off the trees.

The light coming through the trees as the sun sets sure is special.

Hamburgers always taste so good in the great outdoors!
