On the way home....

Some names just sound "Wyoming-ish"...we traveled Powder River Pass, and the Wind River Canyon (where the river seems to be flowing uphill for miles) yesterday. We had never been over Powder River Pass before...just heard it mentioned on the road report as "slick" a lot of times....the scenery was beautiful.
This was a sharp, 25 mile per hour curve and a steep hill! Our friends pull their campers up and down this hill on the way to Cody convention every summer....

Snowing on top of the pass.

Visiting

Chet and Grama Susie made a gingerbread house. We were both coated with frosting, sugar and candy, but it was a really fun time!

The kids are growing so fast.

Baby Chase is 3 1/2 months old now.

Thanksgiving company....

Clayton did a man's work this weekend. They shipped 10 semi loads of cattle on Friday. We were glad for all the help he and his dad gave us gathering the cattle. They rode out before daylight Friday, and got finished loading semis after dark. Looking for Waldo with Grma Susie.

The road less traveled....

We went into town this afternoon and the highway which is 7 miles away, was totally dry. Our place was very snowy, and muddy. We headed home on another road and no one had been down that road since the storm. Maybe this sign explains why...it says "This Road Receives No Winter Maintainance". No tracks here but antelope tracks. Click once and see them lying (is it laying or lying? ) anyway, they are in the road.

The clouds broke up and we can see the top of the mountain.

This is what we look like after the trip.

Our sign was covered in snow.

Lots of snow today! The wind hasn't blown yet, so it is stacked on top of everything.
Waiting for a snowman to come and ride.

Burning the old bridge last night. The new bridge is in place and the old one was too heavy, and too fortified to take apart....so Grpa knew that a storm was coming....I think they forecast 1". this burned into the night even in the snowstorm.

At Grandma's house....

Remember books on tape? Our library has a good supply, so Chet enjoyed listening to a few. A cowboy has to get a little rest from all he has to do.... Note the crossed feet and the hat and gun close at hand! Scott and his boys early in the morning.
Chet and Grandma had a great time raking and throwing leaves up into the wind. No piles of leaves after that! They blew into the next county.

Grandpa has his "private" storeroom for all of his stuff. If the stairs are down, little grandboys have been known to climb up and just sit and look around....(smile).
